What Is Opportunity Scoring?
ThinkKits assigns every school a 0–100 score across four weighted dimensions: Budget Availability (Title I, IDEA, E-Rate unspent funds), Demonstrated Need (low proficiency, high FRL%), Timing (fiscal year position, grant deadlines, board approval patterns), and Access (procurement thresholds, cooperative membership, DPA status).
Scores update weekly as new data is ingested from federal, state, and district sources. Higher scores mean a school has more indicators aligned for a purchase right now.
Score Tiers
🔴 HOT (80–100)
High budget + demonstrated need + favorable timing. Immediate outreach recommended. These schools have the funding, the need, and the window to buy now.
🟠 WARM (60–79)
Strong in 2–3 dimensions. Nurture sequence recommended. A single trigger event (grant deadline, board vote) can push these into HOT territory.
🟡 COOL (40–59)
Moderate indicators. Add to watchlist and monitor for changes. These schools may need a budget cycle or leadership change to become ready.
⚪ COLD (0–39)
Low current indicators. Long-term pipeline only. Track for future fiscal years or policy shifts that could change their profile.
