Privacy Policy
Effective date: January 1, 2025 · Last updated: April 1, 2026
ThinkKits LLC ("ThinkKits", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
Information We Collect
ThinkKits collects information you provide directly when creating an account, such as your name, email address, organization, and role. We also collect usage data (pages visited, features used, search queries) to improve the platform. We do not collect personal information from students.
How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to operate and improve the ThinkKits platform, authenticate your account, send transactional emails (receipts, password resets, product updates), and provide customer support. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
Student Data
ThinkKits indexes publicly available school-level data from NCES, the U.S. Department of Education, and state education agencies. We do not collect, store, or process individual student records. Our platform is designed for educators, administrators, and vendors — not students.
Data Sharing
We share data only with service providers necessary to operate the platform (hosting, authentication, payment processing, analytics). All vendors are bound by data processing agreements. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of ThinkKits and its users.
Cookies & Tracking
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management, and analytics cookies to understand platform usage. You can disable non-essential cookies via your browser settings or our cookie consent banner. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
Data Retention
Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting privacy@thinkkits.com. Aggregated, de-identified usage statistics may be retained indefinitely.
Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, encrypted storage at rest, role-based access controls, and regular security audits. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, object to or restrict processing, and request data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@thinkkits.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
ThinkKits does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately at privacy@thinkkits.com and we will delete it promptly. See our full COPPA compliance statement for details.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the platform. Continued use of ThinkKits after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
